Café Cino is a boutique café brewing specialty coffee and tea, founded by husband and wife team, Ron Collins and Carolina Meurkens. We offer a small-scale, cultivated coffee & tea program, sourced from international & local roasting companies, who align with our values on sustainability and community-conscious business practices. Our selections include exotic, single-origin coffees and loose-leaf teas from Hawaii, Colombia, Brazil, Mexico, Ethiopia, and more.
Café Cino is located inside of PLNTR, a plant store and gift shop in Dupont Circle (Washington, D.C.)
After first meeting working as a barista and espresso tech at a popular DC café in 2018, a love for coffee has been a uniting force between us creative entrepreneurs. So much so, that in 2021, we welcomed our first child Cino Benjamin, whom we named after our favorite drink, our mutual love of coffee and the power it has to bring people together. We’ve since expanded to a family of four, starting our family business along the way.
As musicians and artists ourselves, we host an array of events and activations— such as live music, poetry readings, book swaps, tea and tarot workshops— alongside exotic coffee & tea tastings.
