As a storyteller, I conduct interviews and write essays inspired by the untold stories of the communities I inhabit. My writing is an exploration of my Afro-Brazilian & German intersectional identity, it is a meditation on the legacies of intergenerational trauma, modern love and family, and what it means to be a queer biracial woman in today’s society. As part of my MFA thesis, I am currently working on a memoir of essays that follows my quest to understand my complex racial identity in the context of American Blackness, as I investigate intergenerational trauma as it relates to sexuality, race, and familial love.
